Thank You! (I’ve Reached 100 Followers!)

If you’re reading this, it means I have finally reached 100 followers on WordPress! Well, actually 101… Two people (Scribbled to Paper and Charulchandak followed me at almost exactly the same time.

It truly means the world to me that you all would take the time to read anything I’ve written, especially because I don’t always have a cool picture or some music to distract you from the things that are wrong with my writing, so from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU!!

I never actually thought I’d get 100 followers. I never thought I’d get 50 followers, for that matter… I started this blog about a year and a half ago, didn’t post anything for a few months, and picked it back up semi-regularly in June just to give myself a place to decompress and think creatively while sitting at work. It’s been a pleasure exploring so many other good writers’ blogs, so please check out the list below! I would like to note I have a little over 100 followers, but only 100 of you have blogs, and I wanted to give a special thanks to all of my fellow blogger-followers as well as the email followers. Below is a list of one of my favorite pieces from each of my followers (and one that I could only find an Instagram page for.) Please take the time to check out a few, and please not all from the top or bottom. Get a little crazy, choose some from the middle at random, even write an algorithm to decide the most random selection of numbers, if you’re into that sort of thing:

Everybody is constantly posting good stuff, so I can’t say these are my all-time favorite pieces since they may write my favorite thing the day I decide to post this, and I started writing this post when I reached 50 followers on October 11, 2017. I apologize if you have changed your blog name since I started this list. Please let me know if there is anything wrong and I will update the list accordingly. Love y’all!

❤ December

P.S. I do want to admit that, after looking at some of the other blogs I follow, I see that they have reached within the realm of 40,000 views in 3 months and 5,000 followers in six months, and while the goal of this site is not to be another social media platform nor do I advertise myself as an active writer to many of my friends or family, I can’t help but compare myself to the successes of others, and I often get discouraged. I know my pitfalls and I strive to remember the goal of this blog is therapeutic release. I want to encourage anyone else that has a slow-growing blog that you need to do things for YOU sometimes, and if others follow along, that is their gain. I also know I have no discernible theme which makes it harder for others to decide if it’s worth following my blog or not haha.

But the point is, discouraged or not, excellent writing or pure drivel, I truly appreciate every last one of you for taking the time to read what I write and follow me on my journey. I’m not sure I have the words it takes to express the full breadth and depth of my gratitude toward you.

  1. Congratulations! Very well deserved! I do hope you’ll be able to write more often now. I always love reading your work.
It’s such an honour to be featured in this list. It means the world to me that you love my writings, enough to warrant a place in your favourites. I’m sure it must have been no mean task to compile this list and taking care to provide a link to each one. I commend you!
Also, I’m feeling a little extra happy because you’ve featured my amazing boyfriend right below my account and all I’m able to write is due to the stability, happiness, love and wholesomeness that he brings to my life. So thank you again!

  4. Congratulations on your 100+ followers! It’s always really cool to hit these milestones. WordPress is such an amazing community.
And yeah, I used to get discouraged too, by the small number of followers I had, or when a post I was particularly proud of wouldn’t get many likes. But that’s not really the point, is it? The point is writing. Write because you want to write. And people will find you.
I’m glad we met and I’m very honoured to be on your list! I’ll do my best to check out some of the other blogs. Maybe I’ll find some new people to follow 🙂
    Congrats again, and keep writing!

      1. Oh wow. I don’t think I would describe myself as brave. But that’s a huge compliment. If one person enjoys what I’m doing, then I’m happy 😊 I’ll try to stop by your blog more often!

  7. Congratulations!! on reaching such an important milestone. When we start doing something we like doing from our heart and get love and appreciation from absolute strangers around us it fills us with a special sense of achievement. I know you must be elated, I too was when I first got my 100 followers but to do something like what you did is so commendable. You really are a very humble person. All the best for future writing and more followers to you!!

Oops, I forgot to mention, Thanks for including me on that special list of yours.

      1. That’s so cool! I live in the States, so probably no huge abroad trips, but I’ll be going to Detroit, Michigan in June, and I’d like to visit Portland, Oregon or Seattle, Washington soon. Probably going to Los Angeles, California 3-4 times at some point too

  9. Big and hearty congratulations to you on 100 followers🎆🎇🎊🎉😃 and hope you have many more…..And also Thank You for featuring me on your list, which I’m sure was a humongous task but a sweet one at the same time, to include others in your celebration. I don’t get to post regularly what with my assignments and exams, but it’s always fun to read your posts…..

So here’s to many more post and followers🎉😃

  10. This is an awesome post. It really is. I think I have 4 followers at the moment, so your number is very impressive! I don’t even read the Monster Blogs with their thousands of groupies (sorry if anyone reading this has a Monster Blog or regularly reads one of them: I mean no offense). I just generally prefer things that are individual, artisan, hard-to-define, tucked away little gems, one of a kind, that kind of thing. Congrats, Decemberrosecom. 🙂
