I handed out the caveats
To all of my “unselfish” thoughts
Struck up a deal with the devil’s lot
Hoping for just one corner of the world
I thought that my last chance was shot
Thought I gave it all I’ve got
But something tells me that I’m not
Leaving this treasured world without at least one pearl
