Place To Be Sad, Pt. II

Place to Be Sad Pt. II

They say there’s time for everything

and now I think I know why.

No. I get it. Not everything is perfect. In fact, nothing is.

But there has to be a time to be sad.

When I’m sad, I linger on it.

On times of mourning, moments where things didn’t quite turn out, on love’s misgivings and missed opportunities.

On bittersweet goodbyes.

This is all so… ordinary, so colloquial. Why do I feel it must be anything more?

Here, now, things are simple.

Now that I’ve found my silver lining.

Up here, in the light.

This isn’t all there is, and that can stay in the back of my mind, if it likes.

Maybe happiness isn’t easy, but I’m getting pretty good at it.

A time for melancholy will come, and I’ll be ready.

But I won’t rush it.

This is a time to be happy.

This is a place to be happy.

We are only human. We have moments. There is a reason for every moment. There is a time for every moment. The funny thing is, those moments are similar, even when they feel like polar opposites. Be ready to live in the moment. Be ready for change. This is life.
