The Silence of Snow

God gave us memory so we could have roses in December
But He gave us snow to dwell in the moment
For the sweetest things are those we dearly remember
But not even the heart will be forever frozen

What good is a moment if it will never pass?
Joy to stoicism if it forever lasts

You’ve heard that the bitter helps enunciate the sweet
Speaking softly, sauntering in the silence of snow
Symphonic orchestration of muted melody
Hearts chilled by a forgetful frost

find springs of remembered love, now glow
