With a Borogove

My dear, you’ve still got the brightest eyes I’ve ever seen

I only hope someday you’ll use them against me

But for now, I can’t believe I’m falling so hard

It might sound cliche, but I’ve been falling from the start

I shirk back in fear and ask, “what if I’m not enough?”

But if that is true, then I’ll know you’re not the one

These rhymes aren’t as pure as your soft pink blushing cheeks

But would you really want the perfect version of me

Euphonious, you speak; every word lulls me to sleep

Someday, wrap me in warm blankets of lethargy

After we’re done seeing all the world has to show

And we’re ready to set lose the path with a borogove
