Of Caught-Soughts and Could-Stoods

Tread the world with light-footed dreams

Be all that is aught, and a touch of what is naught

Do not allow the tempest zephyr streams

To knock your block into being caught-sought

That is to say ever-seeking and never-catching

The sights and the sentiments of finches and willow branches

For the finch’s golden vest is rather fetching

And the willow’s whisking whips clip wisps in-to dizzy dances

If an alligator could swim a stream

And butterflies could be tickled by their moustaches

If crocodiles would grin and beam

And moths by moonlight would batter their eyelashes

If the spring sky could sing

And lilies stood tall to honor the children in passing

If the fall breeze would bring

A mighty oak acorn, the wisest would be found everlasting

And if all that should would stood

Then, mayhaps, we would could done good

And the wood that would stood

Could stand grand and raise saplings under a merry hood

So treat the world with light-footed dreams

Be all that is aught, and a touch of what is naught

Do not allow the tempest zephyr streams

To knock your block into being caught-sought
