Fitting In

I sat in the middle of a room today

To become acquainted with the space

To see what the space would say

To see if I’d become its next prey

I sat there with an open mind

Let the space see what it could find

Each response seemed so assigned

Now I’m unsure if the thoughts were mine

Before I could guard myself again

Before I could pick up this pen

I realized that I didn’t know when

I stopped and the space began
