Decision at the Edge

I find myself at a loss for words

At the edge of the Wood

Fearing I won’t be heard

I don’t want to speak into the void

At once misunderstood

Semblance of structure destroyed

I could back my way into the trees

Where I pass by under hood

In a meaningless ease

I could jump from this maddening height

Ending my forlorn brood

No need to pretend there’s a light

But into this canyon, I’m made to sing

Once because I could

And twice to become king

My voice will quiver, crack, and quake

All for Life and Lovers’ sake

Give me your hand, dear angel of mine

Show me my faith, that we discover divine

Slowly appears my apparition, in grace

We two become one, of created race

Lover of Light, let’s pass through the stars

Quick, take my hand, take me ever far

Ever far from this precipice, crude

Where hope comes to fail, waiting for you

I knew you were near, I knew we would fly

Ever anon into the westward twilight sky

My form becomes shaky

My silhouette pure

As this angel-mine

Uplifts my heart to the cure

I see where I stood, my former self asleep

But my God promised me my soul He would keep

And on that day, His promise held true

My God taught me hope and Love through you
