Rainy Day Jazz

Good jazz on a rainy day

Sits deep in my chest like sipping whiskey

Radiating warmth making my cheeks go ruddy

Lifts the corners of my mouth ever so slightly

Despite the greyish smear running down

Tapping on the monochrome glass

Pooling on the windowsill

Listen to Count Basie

Shutting my eyes

Falling, fading

Asleep

Rest
