If I Could Build My Love a Home

If I could build my Love a home

I’d gather bits of precious stone

Finely cut by those who know

What stones can do to make a home

If I could build my Love a home

I’d chop down all the finest trees

Not too many, just enough for me

The finest trees to make a home

If I could build my Love a home

I’d dig deep into the finest mountain

Something with a fall or fountain

Only the finest mountain to make a home

If I could build my Love a home

I’d capture the finest piece of the sky

The breeze, the zephyr, and the hurricane eye

The finest sky to make a home

If I could build my Love a home

I’d capture the finest ebullience

Ecstasy, mellifluously jubilant

The finest ebullience to make a home

If I could build my Love a home

I’d wrap my arms around her, and her alone

Everywhere we’d go, it’d be known

Wherever we are, together, we make our home
