The Chance to Wink

Never miss the chance to wink

At the bird sitting in the weeds

He may sing you a lovely tune

A melody of tweets

And don’t forget to tip your hat

At the little girl all dressed in green

Her boots, her coat, her tiny toy boat

Her laugh is contagious as can be

Genuflect, finally, for the flower

With all of her many seeds

She’s been through frost, scorch, and nearly devoured

Yet shares all she has for you and for me
