Morning Contentment

This morning is sluggish
As it drags its feet on the rug
Lethargically listless, nearly languorous
Certainly lumpish
My muse is lazy this morning
She croons where she normally…
She won’t even give me a better word than “sings”
But today is the sort of day for all this
So I slip on my slippers
Button my flannel one button crooked
And I sit and sip my coffee and smile
Smile in a way others might not see
But I certainly feel it
