Drip-Dripping Off the Sugarcane Leaf

With the rain drip-dripping off the sugarcane leaf
All the drops tap-tapping against my windows at me
So I start look-looking at the cane’s vibrant green
Then I start day-dreaming in all fantasy

Because the water running is like children on a slide
Which makes the sugar cane more of an amusement park ride
And the clouds overhead drop to children that learn to glide
And every green thing is if filled with souls, more alive

Now all the drip-dripping is just a metronome click
Whose pace will help decide if magic’s slow or if it’s quick
I’m just a lightning rod putting the magic in the ground
Or into the air if I turn it all into sound

Enjoy my writing? Buy me a coffee 🙂
