Static-On-Silence

Swinging and swaying

To the sweet songs and sounds

Of cymbals and saxophones

And semi-euphoric static-on-silence

With sonorous overtones

All the world painted in hues of

Noir scenes and aubergines

Flashing reds and effervescent greens

The thin, wiry seats

Along thin, winding streets

Revealing the lonely and homely who greet

With holy smiles that pray and conceit

That someday they might see

The world like me
