Don’t Turn My Picture Down

Don’t turn my picture down

I promised I’d be here through the worst of it

So if this is the worst of it

Sit in silence for just a second longer

And hear me as I whisper

And for a second longer, believe

Believe I am there

If anything should go “wrong” tonight

It’s not the first time

You’d be disappointed you for your own good

I think you know it

You know every bit of it to be true

I promised you

Now it’s your turn to let me in

Stare at the photograph

For just one second longer, please

And if you can’t hear me

Your phone is right there

I know it is

You promised me you’d call for help

And I promised to answer

You promised to let me in

And I promise to enter

So don’t turn my picture down

*click*

Misfire.

Call me.

I am here, with you.
