Any Canyon or Sea

Feeling a fair bit feckless

Uninspired despite the grandeur around me

I’d put novelty in a lamp or locket

Somewhere I could hold it, claim it’s mine to keep

Wanting to be left breathless

Awestruck, astounded – pinch to see if I’m asleep

But what I have could not fit in my pocket

My Lover’s heart – magnificent as any canyon or sea
