Where My Heart Resounds

Needing a taste of where my heart resounds

When the sunshine and pleasant breeze mock me from the outside

I’d be better suited for a rainy day in a library

Just next to the window so the tapping is amplified

Or maybe somewhere the air is close, but cold

Where all seems still but the falling leaves

Stiff movements as they make their way to the ground

Muted colors and whispered speech

So as not to disturb the day

Yet today, the day disturbs me

And won’t bother to speak in hushed tones

Despite my stillness
