Somber Realization of Responsibility

This morning has given me

All I need to grin

A silly smile

Take a drive for awhile

Let the memories begin

 

Seeing all the brightest shades of green

Love, joy, and intrigue of the scene

A single file

Of ants on the tile

Being who they’re made to be

 

And then sets in…

 

The somber realization of responsibility

The little ache in my left-side chest

So I stand to greet

The horizon at my feet

Tack on a grin and make my way west
