Such Fragile Panes

It is such a curious thing
To look out the window at a dream
Discarded leaves playfully swirling
Summoning nymphs and wizards, it seems
Clouds rolling in a dragonlike way
The flap of their wings making trees sway
All that stands between you and the blast
Is a mere sheet of invisible glass
Yet why should we be barred from the whimsy we believe
By things far more fragile than the dreams that we weave
