When you walk out into the world
And you’re struck by the first light of day
Sit, listen, close your eyes and allow it to envelope you
Have the audacity to claim the moment as yours
You’ve made it through the night
And your reward is the warmth of your bare skin
Lay claim to the vibrant ebullience
That is the waking world
And add to it your vim
It’s not the same
Without you
